Maria Kraakman, Jacob Derwig and Ilse Warringa each win a Golden Calf

There were plenty of cheers at the ArtEZ School of Acting in Arnhem on Friday when the Golden Calves were presented at the Dutch Film Festival in Utrecht.
Maria Kraakman, Jacob Derwig and Ilse Warringa, alumni of the School of Acting in Arnhem and the Theatre in Education programme in Zwolle, each won a Golden Calf, for ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress in a TV Drama’ respectively (Ilse plays Miss Ank in ‘Luizenmoeder’, the popular TV series which Ilse co-wrote with Diederik Ebbinge).

Maria Kraakman,(ArtEZ School of Acting) who already won a Golden Calf in 2005 for her role in the film ‘Guernsey’ and in 2010 received the Theo d'Or for her role in ‘Orlando’, worked for a long time as an actress in residence for the Oostpool Theatre Group in Arnhem after graduating. In 2015 she exchanged the capital of Gelderland for Amsterdam, where she played for the Amsterdam Theatre Group.
Jacob Derwig graduated from the School of Acting in Arnhem in 1990. He, too, had a Golden Calf on the mantelpiece already. In 2003 he won the Best Actor Award for his role in the film ‘Zus & Zo’. In 2011 Derwig received the Louis d'Or for his role in ‘Children of the Sun’.

Ilse Warringa: graduated in 1998 from the Teaching Theatre in Zwolle. One of the first theatre companies in which she played was the theatre company Stella in The Hague. For the NTR (a public network) she participated from 2005 in Klokhuis, an educational programme for kids, and the series of comic educational television series Welcome to the Golden Age, Welcome to the Iron Age, Welcome to the Romans and Welcome to the 60s.
In 2006 she started her voice acting career, including for the Winx Club at Nickelodeon. She also played in various TV programmes, including Budget TV, May I Kiss You? and The Great Improvisation Show. In 2018 Warringa played one of the leading roles (Miss Ank) in the successful NPO 3 comedy series ‘De Luizenmoeder’, which she co-wrote with Diederik Ebbinge.
