Research for and by students

At ArtEZ, there is plenty of room for research. In all our bachelor's and (pre-) master's courses, research is integrated into the curriculum. This includes theory classes, material research, and socially engaged research. If, as a student, you can't get enough of deepening your knowledge and experimenting, you can also delve into artistic depths outside your curriculum and class hours.

Essentially, you could say that everything you do as an artist involves an element of research. Consider, for example, the creation process of a theater piece or an illustration, or the context in which you place your artwork: there's always research involved beforehand. But sometimes, you may not yet have a firm grasp on your research skills, or you might be curious about how other students approach their (artistic) research. So, if you've always wanted to delve more into research, or if you want to see what other students are doing in terms of research, then the initiatives listed below may be of interest to you.
