Students from the Dutch Caribbean
Are you from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, or Saba and interested in studying at ArtEZ? Then it’s important that you arrange several things in advance.
We have compiled all the essential information for you in the Dutch Caribbean brochure.
Arrange your Citizen Service Number (BSN) before travelling to the Netherlands
Are you eligible for student finance? If so, you will receive a Citizen Service Number (BSN) directly when you apply for student finance. This will enable you to quickly arrange several matters both before and after your arrival in the Netherlands. Such as applying for a DigiD, which will enable you to log in to websites of the Dutch government. For example, you can use your DigiD to log in to Mijn DUO to view your student finance details, report changes, and receive personal messages. In some municipalities, you can even schedule an appointment in advance to register in the BRP (Personal Records Database) of the municipality where you’ll be living.
Note: This regulation applies to students who are eligible for student finance and will be studying in the Netherlands, but do not yet live there. A key condition is that you have the Dutch nationality or one considered equivalent. For more information and the conditions, visit https://www.rvig.nl/Informatieblad-studenten-Caribisch-Nederland
