On April 2, a new edition of Pleasure Island took place: an annual interdisciplinary project where first-year students from ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem, ArtEZ Academy of Theatre & Dance and ArtEZ Academy of Music come together in Arnhem to create, experiment, and connect.

For four days, students from various programmes worked together in mixed groups. The result was a rich and diverse experience, with something new to discover in every space. From large installations to intimate performances, each group shaped the collaborative process in its own way.
Pleasure Island is about more than just making. The project gives students the opportunity to step outside their own discipline. They discover new ways of collaborating and gain fresh perspectives. This requires flexibility. Where students usually work individually, communication and co-creation are central here.
