AKI ArtEZ launches Studio+

AKI ArtEZ introduces Studio+, a new programme for adults who want to develop and deepen their artistic practice without an admission procedure or working towards a degree.

A place to deepen your artistic practice

With Studio+, AKI ArtEZ offers artists, designers, alumni and creative professionals a new opportunity to become – or once again be – part of the inspiring environment of the art academy. Over a minimum of two semesters, participants work on their own practice in the studios and specialised workshops of AKI ArtEZ, guided by artists, designers and lecturers.

Studio+ is for people who want to deepen or continue developing their artistic practice alongside a job, their own business or other commitments. Rather than working towards a degree, the focus is on deepening your own practice, experimenting with materials and techniques, and exchanging ideas with other makers.

'Artistic development does not stop once you have earned a degree or gained years of professional experience. We see makers who need time, exchange and space, without wanting to enrol in another full degree programme.'

Space to experiment and follow your own path

Studio+ connects the art academy's rich tradition with a desire for new possibilities: a place where makers can follow their own path, experiment and make room for what has yet to take shape. The programme combines studio practice, experimentation, technical skills, coaching and group discussions of participants' work. Participants have access to the professional studios and workshops of AKI ArtEZ and work together in a bilingual community of Dutch and international participants.

Enrolment opens on 1 October 2026 and the programme starts on 1 February 2027. Studio+ has no admission requirements and no portfolio is required. Curiosity, motivation and the desire to further develop your own artistic practice are what matter.
