Design by Fashion Design alumnus Julia Verberne featured on Bente’s album cover

A dress from the graduation collection Memoria Blanca by 2026 Fashion Design alumnus Julia Verberne is now featured on the album cover of Dutch artist Bente. Bente wears the design on the cover of her new album DWARS, which will be released on 6 November 2026. Julia graduated from the Bachelor’s in Fashion Design in Arnhem in 2026 with the collection, in which she reinterprets existing forms and memories.

With Memoria Blanca, Julia explores the relationship between memory and the present. For the collection, she reconstructed recognisable garments and patterns from her grandmother’s wedding dress and translated them into new forms. By reworking the patterns in different ways, including changing the grain direction and cutting the patterns on the bias, she created new garments that reference their original shapes. One of these designs is now featured on Bente’s album cover.

The album cover appearance follows a successful year for Julia. She graduated cum laude from Fashion Design in Arnhem with Memoria Blanca. Her collection was also selected as a finalist for Lichting 2026, where she presented her work alongside the other finalists during Amsterdam Fashion Week.
