ArtEZ graduates featured in new Showdepot DE.GROEN

Recent ArtEZ graduates are featured in The Sky Still Stands, the opening exhibition at the new Showdepot of art collection DE.GROEN in Arnhem. Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant has already paid a visit, highlighting the work of these emerging artists.

Emerging artists alongside established names

The exhibition combines works from DE.GROEN’s existing collection with new work by twelve recent graduates of ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem and HKU in Utrecht.

Æon Teunissen’s plastic snow

One of these artists is Æon Teunissen, who recently graduated from the bachelor’s programme BEAR Fine Art. According to de Volkskrant, Teunissen’s work immediately catches the eye in the first gallery. Fine pieces of plastic drift down from a container suspended from the ceiling, slowly forming an ever-growing mound on the floor. In the exhibition, the work is presented alongside art from the collection, including a video by Sjoerd Knibbeler and objects by Maria Roosen.

The Sky Still Stands is spread across four floors of the new Showdepot. The exhibition centres on nature, wonder and the comforting power of art.
