29 Top-rated bachelor programmes in Keuzegids 2027

Keuzegids HBO 2027 has rated fifteen of the eighteen ArtEZ programmes as Top Programmes. Together, these programmes account for 29 specialisations, four more than last year. Five ArtEZ programmes have also been ranked first nationally.

The results paint a positive picture of the programmes and specialisations across ArtEZ’s academies and locations. Students are (very) positive about their lecturers and the atmosphere within their programmes. The content and assessment methods also receive above-average ratings for most programmes.

‘I am particularly proud that so many of our programmes and specialisations have been awarded the Top Programme designation, often for many years in a row. It shows the quality, commitment and care for students that are so strongly present at ArtEZ. This recognition comes in large part from our students themselves and is thanks to the tremendous commitment of our lecturers and all colleagues who make our education possible.’

Frank Kresin, Executive Board ArtEZ

This year, five ArtEZ programmes rank first when compared with similar programmes in the Netherlands: Theatre in Arnhem (School of Acting), Music in Education in Enschede, Music Therapy, Fine Art in Arnhem (BEAR Fine Art), and Design in Zwolle (Animation Design, Comic Design, Graphic Design, Illustration Design, Interior Architecture and Try Out).

The results for Design are particularly impressive. The three ArtEZ locations together occupy all three top spots nationally. In addition to the specialisations in Zwolle mentioned above, Design also includes Creative Writing, Fashion Design, Design Art Technology, Product Design and Graphic Design (Arnhem), as well as Crossmedia Design and Moving Image (both in Enschede)

Keuzegids hbo, published by the Centrum Hoger Onderwijs (Centre for Higher Education), helps prospective students compare bachelor's programmes in the Netherlands. The guide bases its assessments on several sources, including student feedback from the National Student Survey (NSE), labour market data from the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA), and study success figures from the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences. Programmes scoring 75 points or higher receive the 'Topopleiding' (Top-rated Programme) distinction. All practical information about Keuzegids hbo can be found on the Keuzegids website.

For its comparisons, Keuzegids uses the term 'programme' and assesses each location separately. The fifteen ArtEZ programmes awarded the 'Topopleiding' distinction together cover 29 specialisations across the locations in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle.
