Writers who look beyond the text on paper

Creative Writing in Arnhem is a higher vocational (HBO) course for those who want to become writers. It is the first higher vocational arts course on which, with the help of renowned writers, poets and professionals from the literary world, you can develop into a fully-fledged writer and creator. The course turns ambitious new writers and storytellers into versatile story creators. The emphasis on the course is on written text, but you can also choose to focus on other forms of presentation, such as zines, audio or performance. There is also a strong focus on creative research, so that you can identify where your talents, ambitions and opportunities lie.

In the second half of the course, you will have a lot of freedom to choose a direction and develop your own style, not only to graduate with, but also to turn into a profession. After the Creative Writing course, there are many places where you can find work: as an independent creator, but also with publishers, as a programme maker for media, venues, festivals and events, as a teacher or in sectors that can really benefit from clear writing. You will be able to set yourself apart from others because you have experience as a maker, know what writers go through and have a large network.

Is this the training for you?
