Application and admission

You can apply for the course via Studielink. Before you do so, please read the admission requirements and application procedure below.

Apply

You initially apply for the bachelor Art & Design-Creative Writing via Studielink. You will then receive login details for the application website, where you will be asked complete a questionnaire and add a passport photo. Once you have done this, the writing assignments will automatically be e-mailed to you.

You need to upload the assignments via the application website at least one week before the selection round.

Dates selection rounds

The selection days are full and registration is no longer possible.

You must upload the writing assignments by 15 March via the application website. Once you have done this, you may be invited to the 1st selection day on Thursday 4 April or Friday 5 April. You will then hear whether you have been admitted to the second round, which is 18 and 19 April.

  • Selection round 1: Thursday 4 April or Friday 5 April (full)
  • Selection round 2: Thursday 18 and Friday 19 April (full)

Admission requirements for Creative Writing

These are the diploma and language requirements you must meet.

        • Pre-university education (VWO), upper general secondary education (HAVO), secondary vocational education (MBO: level 4) or foreign equivalent level of education.
        • This Dutch spoken course is subject to language requirements.
        • Positive result for the entrance exam. The entrance exam is designed to assess your chances of succeeding on the course.

Selection

During the selection days, you will be tested on:

  • Imagination
  • Style & syntax
  • Capacity for reflection
  • Attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and participation in the workshops

On the first day, you will take two workshops. Based on your scores and the observations of the lecturers, you may or may not be invited for the second selection round.

The second round consists of a writing workshop day and a personal interview. Two lecturers and a senior student will be present at the interview, which will last approximately twenty minutes. The interview will be based on the questionnaire, writing assignments and your motivation to take this course.

In order to be admitted, you must be available on all days.

Result and validity

We will inform you in writing whether you have been admitted or rejected no later than two weeks after the second selection day. An admission is only valid for the course and the academic year for which you have applied.
