On Tuesday, June 2nd, the online learning environment Leerpodium was taken offline as a precaution following a report of a security incident.
During the incident, unauthorised changes were made to the platform, resulting in unwanted links to external websites appearing on the platform.
ArtEZ and Leerpodium are currently investigating the cause and impact of the incident. It has been established that the incident involves a cyberattack affecting one of Leerpodium’s supplier servers. At this time, there are no indications that any other ArtEZ systems have been affected.
The affected Leerpodium server contains data relating to students and staff, including names, course schedules, student work and assessments. ArtEZ and Leerpodium are investigating whether any data has been accessed or taken.
ArtEZ and Leerpodium are working hard to restore access to Leerpodium as soon as possible. Where necessary, temporary measures are being put in place to minimise disruption to teaching and assessment activities.
We understand that this incident may raise questions. As soon as more information becomes available regarding the impact and progress of the incident, all parties involved will be informed.
