Where art and neuroscience meet
Sohn is a multidisciplinary designer and artistic researcher from South Korea. She developed Synthetic Halo at Tetem. The installation translates visitors’ brainwaves into a changing, meditative landscape. Through this work, Sohn explores whether light can be perceived, measured and shared.
International recognition
The jury praised the work’s dreamlike aesthetic, which brings together elements including woodcraft, animals, rivers, plants, 3D scans, temples and graphs. According to the jury, the calm yet stimulating presentation invites visitors to explore the work further.
The award is international recognition of Sohn’s experimental design practice, in which art and technology come together.
