On Wednesday 7 October, Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week in Enschede will open with a kick-off and meet-up, including a workshop by Care & Repair, an ArtEZ research project within the NewTexEco Research Community.

09.30 - 10.00 uur: Kick-off withet Floor van der Holst (NewTexEco)
10.00 - 12.00 uur: Workshop Care & Repair with Nora Veerman (Care & Repair) and Leslie Eisinger
12.00 - 13.00 uur: Lunch
The workshop is open to students, teachers, researchers and anyone interested. Participation in the kick-off, workshop and lunch is free! Registration is required for all programme activities.
About the Care & Repair workshop
Global clothing production has more than doubled over the past twenty years, while the average lifespan of clothing has decreased. Within Care & Repair, designers and researchers explore how we can keep clothes in use for longer by making care and repair a natural part of the fashion system again.
During the workshop, we will explore our own behaviour around clothing. When do we wash a garment, and why? What do we do when a favourite item gets damaged? By sharing experiences, we reflect on the habits and choices that shape the way we use and care for our clothes.
We will also get hands-on with different repair techniques that you can use at home. By doing, experimenting and reflecting, you will discover what care and repair can mean for you as a user and for the way we design and use clothing.

About Care & Repair en NewTexEco
Care & Repair is a research project within NewTexEco,, the Research Community of ArtEZ. NewTexEco brings together ArtEZ University of the Arts, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, along with around thirty partners, to contribute to the development of a circular and regenerative textile sector.
