Meriam de Kanter
Meriam de KanterMerel de Kanter is a senior adviser in cultural education
Education has always run like a thread through Meriam's career. She started as a youth librarian in the eighties in Delft. In 1991 she switched to the Overijssel Library Service, a second-line organization for libraries. There she helped shape the Kulturhus concept. A concept from Scandinavia in which several facilities are under one roof (education, government, art & culture, business services) with the aim of preserving the liveability and vitality of village centers and city districts. She has been coordinating the cultural education department at Kunst & Cultuur Overijssel since 2000. In 2013, Meriam started her own company Bureau Cultuur Ondernemen and worked as a freelancer for Rijnbrink, among others. In 2015 she obtained the diploma Director of Buiten van Magistrum. A training to become a director of a primary school for lateral entrants. In the same year she became a strategic advisor for Rijnbrink and now she has returned to her passion for education and art and culture as a senior advisor in cultural education.
