Cormac Burmania

Head of Bachelor Theatre in Education Arnhem / Artist Educator in Theatre

Cormac Burmania is first and foremost an Artist Educator in heart and soul. As a connoisseur of the floor, he likes to make connections between policy and practice. Since 2015, he has been head of the Bachelor Theatre in Education Arnhem at ArtEZ, where he and the team have been shaping a new vision of how the theatre teachers of the future can be trained. The new curriculum ensures critical, contact-rich and artistically substantive alumni with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion.

In addition, on behalf of ArtEZ, Cormac is leading a research project together with the Disability Studies Department of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences into ‘inclusive cooperation within the theatre’. Previously, Cormac was a senior lecturer at the MBO Theaterschool, where he helped many actors on their way to a professional career. He also worked as a theatre director.
