Fine Art alumnus Gideon van Gameren wins HeArtfund 2025–2026

Gideon van Gameren, who recently graduated from the Fine Art programme at AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design, has been awarded the HeArtfund 2025–2026. With this award, the annual support from Stichting HeArtpool once again goes to a Fine Art alumnus.

Support at the start of professional practice

The HeArtfund is intended for recently graduated visual artists who are at the beginning of their professional practice. In this transitional phase, not only an artistic vision is required, but also entrepreneurship. The fund offers concrete support for this over the course of one year.

Space, resources and guidance

The HeArtfund grant can be used for a workspace including fixed costs, a one-off basic allowance, and a monthly contribution towards material expenses. In addition, the fund offers scope for mentoring, advice and other forms of support that help build an independent professional practice.

Exhibition and publication

The year of support concludes with a solo exhibition and a publication featuring the work developed during this period. In this way, the artist gains a clear and visible position within the professional field.

Selection by the HeArtfund committee

The HeArtfund committee, Jet van der Sluis, Remco Dikken and Jan Noltes, visited the AKI graduation exhibition to select a new artist. Their choice of Gideon van Gameren once again highlights how Fine Art graduates from AKI stand out for the quality of their work and their potential.
