Animation work by students, alumni, and teachers on display at Kaboom Animation Festival

During the Kaboom Animation Festival, from April 5 to 14, the crème de la crème of animation will be on display at various locations in Amsterdam. Entries come from all over the world. Of course, the work of students, alumni, and a teacher from the bachelor's programs in Animation Design and Illustration Design at the ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Zwolle will also be featured. MILK - Niek de Leeuw

Milk is about the expectations and realities of being gay.

FIVE A.M. - Yvette Bolder

At first light, a peaceful sleeper is awakened by his alarm clock and a feeling of anxiety. Something is wrong... Five A.M. is the work of third-year Animation Design student Yvette Bolder.

PENUMBRA - Rianne Stremmelaar

A family lives in a large white mansion in a small town. Their orchard is inhabited by a colony of crows. They keep a close eye on the family. What happens when these worlds collide? Penumbra is the work of Animation Design teacher Rianne Stremmelaar.

PAPA - Lucas Toornvliet

When Mitch cleans out her recently deceased father's room, she finds an old family heirloom that brings back suppressed memories. Now that her father is gone, she must find a way to come to terms with his death and their complicated relationship. Papa is the work of Lucas Toornvliet. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Animation Design in 2023.

CLARKII - Leticia van Neerven

ClarkII is a Dutch stop-motion animated documentary about the American crayfish and the contradictory laws surrounding this small creature. Leticia van Neerven graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Illustration Design. ClarkII can be seen on Kaboom during Dutch Shorts 1: A Canvas of Chronicals on Saturday, April 6, and Friday, April 12.
