What does this crash course offer?

This course offers focused training for the theoretical component of the entrance exam. After this course, you will be better prepared for a successful music theory exam, a component for admission to a bachelor’s course. You may take this course if you are already familiar with the most fundamental concepts of music theory and have a basic knowledge of notation.
You can also take this course in Zwolle and Arnhem. The ArtEZ programme terms and conditions also apply to preparatory courses and other classes.
Programme
During these lessons, you will improve your skills in ear training, score singing, notation, reading and transcribing rhythms and harmonic listening. On top of that, you will broaden your knowledge base of general music theory and go over all of the requirements of the theory component of the bachelor entrance exam. This course can also be taken online.
- Depending on the language abilities of the participating students, the crash course will be taught in either English or Dutch.
- The course will take place when enough participants sign up.
- Course lessons will be at the ArtEZ Academy of Music, Van Essengaarde 10, 7511 PN Enschede.
- The course can also be taken online if necessary, after consultation with the course teacher and if there are enough applications for an online component.
- The lessons will be taught by a theory teacher at the Academy of Music in Arnhem.

The crash course consists of 10 group lessons of one hour each. Please note: the crash course 2023 is already fully booked.

Cancellation: Registration is for the full length of the course. Given the short duration of the course, cancellation mid-course is not allowed and a refund of tuition fees is not possible.

Crash Course in Music Theory and Ear Training (online)
This training is the online version of the crash course and offers you the opportunity to prepare well, wherever and whenever you want.
You will receive access to the online practice material of ArtEZ Connected Enschede. With this you can ensure that your level of music theory is good for your admission.
