New master's programme: Illustration Based Narrative, for makers who tell stories through drawn images

About the programme

In a world full of complex challenges, Illustration Based Narrative offers you space to respond, question, and create meaning. You will learn how to use drawing as a tool to tell stories, to visualise perspectives, and to open up new ways of seeing. Whether you work from an artistic, theoretical, or journalistic angle, this master’s gives you the opportunity to develop your own distinctive signature and increase your impact as a visual storyteller.

Structure

At the heart of the programme lies your personal research project. You choose a question or theme that resonates with you and explore it both visually and conceptually. Alongside this, you take modules that strengthen your narrative power, technical skills, and investigative approach. In this way, you build a strong, autonomous practice that is rooted in current issues and nourished by artistic and critical thinking.

For whom?

This master’s is designed for those with a bachelor’s degree in illustration, comics, animation, design, storytelling, or journalism. Professionals working in other creative or educational fields who wish to reposition their practice or connect it more strongly to society are also warmly invited to apply.

After graduation

Upon completing this master’s, you will have developed a powerful, independent practice and a sharp, reflective outlook. You will be able to contribute to pressing social and cultural debates, both locally and internationally, through your work.

Applications open on 1 October.
