Shanice Muntslag wins Keplerfilm Animatieprijs

As part of the Netherlands Film Festival Talent Days, the Talent Awards were presented. The Keplerfilm Animation Award for the best animation graduation film goes to Shanice Muntslag. Shanice studied Animation Design and won this award for the animated short Suma na mi.
'Suma na mi' means ‘who am I?’
In this autobiographical animated film, the young woman looks back on her life in Surinam, the country she left as a nine-year-old to go and live in the Netherlands.
A stream of vague and sharp memories takes her (Shanice?) back to her life before she left for the Netherlands. Her life with grandma and grandpa in the country of her birth, Surinam.
Shanice Muntslag received a cheque for €3000 provided by producer Keperfilm to develop a new animation project.
