Bert van Beek

Bert van Beek (1981) conducts research for the Theory in the Arts professorship on how art academy students can integrate, develop and make explicit research in their creative practice. To this end, he coordinates the Theory workshop, a sanctuary for students that aims to narrow the gap between making and researching.

Van Beek's research concerns didactics, process theory and performance studies and is based on methods from analytical philosophy (Frankfurt, Searle, Wittgenstein), social theatre (Augusto Boal), and performance psychology (Kahneman, Waitzkin, stoics).
