Specific admission criteria for Trumpet

In addition to the general admission criteria, there are also specific instrumental requirements. During the audition, you will perform at least one étude and a recital piece, unless indicated otherwise. The pieces mentioned are merely examples. You can also opt for other works of a similar level.

Your performing skills will be tested on the basis of:

    • Major and minor scales and triads;
    • Two études such as J.B. Arban’s Méthode (Part 3), H. Duhem’s 24 études, A. Laurent’s Études pratiques (Part 1) or G. Senon’s Études cahier B;
    • Two recital pieces such as J.B. Arban’s Brillante, J.B. Arban’s Phantasie, A. Arutunian’s Aria et scherzo, G. Balay’s Andante et allegro, A. Goedicke’s Concert Étude or O. Ketting’s Intrada.
