Mark Kunst began his bachelor's in Artisteducator in Dance in Arnhem with a clear end goal in mind: he wanted to become a breakdance instructor. Did he succeed? How does he look back on his education? And what are his future plans?
A women's big band as a statement: Meike advocates for gender equality in the music industry
Meike Brandt is convinced that women are underrepresented in the music industry and wants to make a powerful statement at her finals concert. She does this by putting women in the spotlight and breaking the stereotypes of big bands. With her graduation concert Break the Circle, she will graduate from the bachelor's course Jazz & Pop in Zwolle, together with her trumpet, band and the female big band she founded.
I have named my graduation concert 'Break the Circle' to address the underrepresentation of women in this part of the music industry.
Luca Loeb graduates on 17 June from the bachelor's course Jazz & Pop in Arnhem. Luca invites you on a journey through the universe of modern progressive music. This journey takes us through different styles, sounds and atmospheres, constantly meandering between improvisation and composition, between soothing and disturbing, heavy and weightless, bitter and hopeful.
Mirjam Kwebeman is graduating with In Motion from the master's course Classical Music in Zwolle, majoring in saxophone. In Motion is a concert full of chamber music and solo repertoire in which the student showcases the versatility of the classical saxophone. Over the past year, Mirjam has been exploring the topic of 'Embodiment and Stage Awareness' as the subject of her research. She will play her final with sixteen musician friends on 18 June at the Doopsgezinde Kerk in Zwolle.
Jade Doe's lyrics resemble an open diary, recognisable to many and intriguing to curious souls. Her music blends jazz harmony with catchy pop melodies and catchy hooks. Jade will perform for this special occasion on Wednesday 19 June with her usual band, enriched by talented backing vocalists and other artists. With this, she will graduate from the bachelor's course Jazz & Pop Arnhem.
PROTO filmfestival: de beste films door aankomend talent uit Zwolle
For the first time, PROTO presents the PROTO Film Festival together with Het Fraterhuis. Four schools from Zwolle - ArtEZ, Cibap, Deltion and Landstede - will show the best work of their students. The students come from various courses, including Animation Design, and present a range of final products, ranging from short animation films to fictional stories. PROTO is part of the finals exhibition ArtEZ Art & Design and master's courses Zwolle.
