Are you finished or almost finished with your HAVO, VWO or MBO education and would like to study at a conservatory afterwards? With the Preparatory Music Course, you will be fully prepared for admission to a bachelor’s course in music.

What you will learn during the Preparatory Music Course

Within a year-long Preparatory Music Course, you will find out if a bachelor’s course at a conservatory is right for you. You will train your musical skills and receive coaching and information to further help you progress musically. This includes music theory lessons and individual main subject lessons for your instrument or voice. You can take these lessons at the Kaliber Kunstenschool in Enschede, located in the same building as the ArtEZ Academy of Music Enschede. There is a lot of exchange between the two schools’ teachers, and Kaliber and ArtEZ teachers share several practice rooms. As a Preparatory Course student, you will get a good feel of the atmosphere at the Academy of Music. Not only that, but you will also participate in Explore The Field Days at the ArtEZ Enschede location. During these exploratory days, you will collaborate musically with students from all preparatory courses.

You will take the Preparatory Music Course for the Academy of Pop Music through Kaliber Kunstenschool. Since every student has a different background and level when they start, the lesson programme is tailor-made to each student. That also means that the costs for the course are a bit different for everyone.
To take the preparatory music course, you will first give an initial interview. If you already have a referral letter from the ArtEZ Academy of Music (for example, once you have been admitted for a bachelor’s course), you will be automatically admitted.

You will take the Preparatory Music Course for Media Music through Kaliber Kunstenschool. Since every student has a different background and level when they start, the lesson programme is tailor-made to each student. That also means that the costs for the course are a bit different for everyone.
