Musical skills are an important part of the major lessons. Besides reading notes and chord symbols, maintaining an overview and refining your technique, your development in bands is also addressed. This helps you fully develop your ambition and talent. You discover whether there is a hidden band leader, arranger or studio engineer inside you. This journey of exploration includes lessons in aspects like PA (sound system), studio techniques and arranging. 

Admission requirements Bass guitar

We expect a considerable level at the start of your study to ensure that you can complete your study in four years at the desired level. We test your level and development potential during the admission. We expect the following:

• Playing at least two stylistically different pieces which represent what you can do.
• Rhythm test: keeping to a rhythm when playing a drum loop, in which the loop stops for several beats.
• Think up a bass line based on a drum pattern and a chord scheme.
• Playing/reproducing: a fragment is played that you need to play as quickly as possible by ear and/or unprepared with a play-along.
• Read notes.
• Read chord symbols (including instructions about rhythm and form), both as an accompanist and soloist.
