Meet Nadina - a Latvian singer based in the Netherlands.    If asked about what music she makes, she laughs and says: People around me call it “Nadina Jazz”. But if we talk more seriously - it’s contemporary jazz that weaves together cleverly crafted lyrics, improvisation and all her past influences.   In her final concert she’s going to bring you on a journey, to find hope in grief, love in pain and desire in misery with her quartet Soniri and some very special guests.    “When there is nothing else around, I turn to music and writing. Andere Koek   We leven langs elkaar heen. Achter gesloten deuren, in gescheiden bubbels, met oordelen die zelden worden uitgedaagd. Maar wat gebeurt er als je even mag binnenstappen? Niet in een debat, maar in een woonkamer. Plaatsnemen op iemands bank, koekje erbij, en kijken naar hun perspectief.    In Andere Koek werp je een blik in levens die misschien helemaal niet lijken op het jouwe. Of juist verrassend wel. Wat zegt een zithoek over wie we zijn? Wat verbindt ons, als we ons even niet verschuilen achter onze voordeur? Lijken we misschien toch meer op elkaar dan we denken?   In een wereld waar iedereen het zó met elkaar oneens lijkt te zijn, gaan Eva-Luna en Fieke – nieuwsgierige muziektheatermakers met een zwak voor koekjes en gesprekken – op zoek naar wat ons nog wél verbindt. Andere Koek is een muzikale, beeldende voorstelling waarin tastbaar wordt hoe verschillend én hoe gelijk we zijn. Een uitnodiging om naar binnen te kijken – bij een ander, en misschien ook een beetje bij jezelf.   Kom binnen.  Vrouw op zuid: een muzikaal volksverhaal  “Vrouw verminkt door zuur in het gezicht”  “Op zondagavond dode vrouw aangetroffen”  “Vrouw zwaargewond na aanrijding”  Google je “vrouw op zuid”, dan vind je alleen maar horror verhalen.Deze jonge troubadours zijn hier met een volkse dosis humor en hun melancholische muziek om het tegendeel te bewijzen. Toch? Maak kennis met Harry, Savorah ,Hanifa, en al hun buren in de muziektheatervoorstelling ‘Vrouw op zuid’. Met basgitaar, saxofoon, drum en vocalen nemen Eveline Baçe, Fiep Mulderije en Julia Versteeg je mee de buurt in. Het doel van deze nieuwe generatie makers: Op muziektheatrale wijze wijken die volgens het CBS als slecht worden gezien in hun welverdiende zonnetje zetten.  Welverdiend toch?  En dat alles gebaseerd op eigen ervaringen en gesprekken met de wijkbewoners. No Man’s Land

A violinist tells - About the forgotten antislavery pioneers. A hunchbacked prophet with dwarfism, an unassuming elementary school teacher, and a straight-laced theologian. At first, no one could have guessed that this huddle of oddballs would spark one of the greatest revolutions in human history. But so it did. At least, these three eighteenth-century men were the greatest pioneers. They lit the flame of “abolitionism,” the belief that the entire institution of slavery should be abolished.

Groove Galaxy – a game in concert. Groove Galaxy is an exciting musical space journey about resilience, friendship and courage.For this game in concert, Stephan van der Woerd wrote new music as a soundtrack to the video game he programmed himself, together with his brother Rein.

Hendrik Gilles – Final Bachelor Concert Hendrik Gilles began making music at a young age and started playing guitar when he was 12. Around the same time, he formed his first band and began developing his skills as a musician and songwriter. After finishing school, he decided to pursue music more seriously and started his bachelor studies in guitar at ArtEz University of the Arts in Arnhem in 2021. During his time at ArtEz, Hendrik took part in various music productions outside of his studies, gaining valuable experience and insight into the day-to-day work of a professional musician. These opportunities helped shape his musical identity and gave him a broader perspective on the industry. On June 24th, Hendrik will perform his final bachelor concert at 19.00h in the ArtEz concert hall in Arnhem. The program will focus on original compositions in the rock/pop genre, highlighting the creative direction he has developed over the past few years. Marco Braun is a German guitar player, songwriter and producer. Coming from a popular music background, Marco dove deeper into the realms of jazz and improvised music during the last four years at ArtEZ. Simultaneously, he released an album and toured with his Indie band So Soon internationally.    For this final concert, he gathers all the people that were most important to him during the time in Arnhem both musically as well as personally. The concert will only consist of original music with an innate melancholy and a distinctive warm and wide sound. THE PROCESS: an Exploration of Creativity. "THE PROCESS” takes viewers in a journey that shares the emotions, struggles and differentphases of the artistic creation through conversations with Dutch artists, musicians from theMetropole Orkest, introspective monologues and original compositions performed by MatangiString Quartet, Fames Orchestra and solo players from different parts of the world (Croatia,Portugal, Spain, Serbia, UK). Along four different parts (The Spark, Persistence, Collaboration, and Completion), artistsacross multiple disciplines share insights on finding inspiration, overcoming creative blocks andknowing when a work is complete. Drawing from his personal experiences and struggles as a composer, Gabriel Suarez Cejuelashares his thoughts through several monologues with tailor made music and captures authenticconversations in artists natural environments. "I wanted to document the elements of creativitythat connect us all, regardless of medium, and find answers to questions and troubles Iexperience myself in the process", says Gabriel. Kairos Pedro Coloma is a Chilean composer focused on acoustic and electronic instrumental music, with an interest in sound itself. Inspired by multiple artists, he creatively searches for different ways to express and resonate with the project’s main message, whether it is a film, or an autonomous piece.   For his final, Pedro is working on an independent film, combining visuals and audio (soundtrack, spoken word, soundscapes, sound design) in a creative and evoking way in order to deliver the main message to the audience. “Kairos” shows the importance of being in the moment and appreciating simple things through the images and sounds of common places and daily life surroundings, supported by an immersive soundtrack that gives life to the images.   Website: https://www.pedrocoloma.com   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pedro.coloma.music/   Email: pedro.coloma.music@gmail.com

Zie je dat dan niet?   In de locatietheatervoorstelling ‘Een zeeman wordt niet nat’ wordt de Arnhemse Stadsblokkenwerf omgetoverd tot een plek voor rouw, in al haar vormen en maten. Vier spelers nemen je mee op een beeldende, muzikale en poëtische reis, waarin ze rouw pogen te duiden.  Want waar kan je allemaal om rouwen? Wat is rouw eigenlijk? Is het überhaupt nodig?  Verwacht rauwe teksten, kleine liedjes, zilte zeemannen, bulderende koren, grootse schepen en filmische beelden.    Praktische informatie Deze voorstelling hanteren wij een Pay what you can systeem. Na de voorstelling kan je een bijdrage te leveren, mocht je dat willen en kunnen.   De voorstelling speelt zich af op een externe locatie. Het is het makkelijkst te bereiken per fiets of auto. Met openbaar vervoer kom je een heel end, maar je zal het laatste stukje (+-10 minuten) moeten lopen.
