Kaledidoscope Sara Maraston is a cello player who dives into the world of instrumental folk jazz. The title of this performance, Kaleidoscope, reflects the core of Sara’s musical vision. Like the shifting patterns and vibrant colors seen through a kaleidoscope, her compositions take you on a journey to a colorful world, where emotions are in constant movement, turning upside down and reshaping themselves into new meanings and different perspectives. In this concert, Sara brings together musicians and friends she met during her studies at the Conservatory of ArtEZ. At the heart of the performance, however, is her established band. In this ensemble, the melodic voice of the cello waves together with the clarinet and saxophone, all supported by a rhythm section that’s uniquely accompanied by the presence of the accordion. With a strong background in classical music, Sara creates an elegant fusion of tradition and innovation. Her music reflects a deep connection to her roots and the diverse musical influences that shape her work. The overview exhibition with works of all AKI Academy of Art & Design graduates of 2025 can be seen from Friday 27 June to Friday 4 July in and around the AKI Academy building in Enschede. 

Q's final A jazz flutist and singer from China who pours her soul into every note she plays and weaves her life into her music. Her jazz flows where East meets West, where tradition meets modernity and where honesty meets creativity. Having devoted the first twenty years of her life to classical music, she felt an undeniable call to explore both herself and the world beyond. This longing led her to the Netherlands, where she embarked on a journey to study jazz. Over four transformative years, her perspective on improvisation deepened, expanding in unexpected ways. She found profound inspiration not only in the natural world but also in her rich Chinese heritage, which infused her music with a unique blend of tradition and innovation. Like nature itself—ever-changing and full of wonder—she continues to grow, embracing new experiences and opening herself to endless possibilities.

Behind the scenes of ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem, graduates are working hard on the Finals exhibitions! Fourth-year students Product Design, Creative Writing, Fashion Design, BEAR Fine Art, Docent Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving, Design Art Technology and Graphic Design will show their projects from July 2 to 5, 2025. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the graduation work and get to know the new generation of artists.

From 3 to 6 July 2025, the Sophia building in Zwolle will host the ArtEZ Finals. Graduates of the ArtEZ Academy for Art & Design and the master's programmes will present their final work to the public. This is the moment to meet the new batch of artists from fine art to design and illustration. Be inspired by the vision, stories and talents of the makers of the future.
