In my Artez Final I will show how I have developed as a drummer and musician over the past four years. It promises to be an evening centered around my enjoyment of music. In two sets I will take the audience to styles and genres that make my heart beat faster.
The first set I will play with my own band GUSTO. We play instrumental, UK-jazz-inspired fusion music. Our four-man formation takes the listener into a relaxed world where tight grooves, soft harmonies and catchy melodies make it accessible to a wide audience. Because we write the pieces ourselves, I am able to properly reflect my own musical fingerprint in the music.
In the second set I play with a larger band, with singer and horns, songs by artists who have inspired me for years. Think Sting, TOTO, Michael Jackson and Phil Collins. The songs will range from a ballad to a big fusion piece. This is how I end my time at the conservatory, with songs that made me start it one day.
