Arnhem Stadsgesprek and Mode Partners 025 present at Rozet:
STOF TOT NADENKEN [FABRIC FOR THOUGHT] – about the future of sustainable fashion
Arnhem is known as a city of sustainable fashion. But what does sustainable fashion really mean?
NewTexEco has been invited as an interdisciplinary research community to share insights on the need for an integrated approach — where technology, the market, and design (education) come together.
NewTexEco will take visitors on a journey into the story behind a piece of clothing, asking critical questions like: how sustainable is vegan leather, really?

Textile Surgery
This session goes beyond conversation. NewTexEco takes you on a journey into the story behind your clothing — from origin to end of life. Ever heard of a textile surgery? Watch the video below and learn more. Product designer Tjeerd Veenhoven and Mirte Engelhard will analyse a visitor’s garment, looking at fabric type, origin, user history, and sustainability. Many people want to make more conscious choices, but often lack reliable information about where their clothes come from. And sometimes, labels can be misleading — take vegan leather, for example. It sounds sustainable, but in reality, it’s just plastic!
During the evening, ArtEZ Press will be present with a selection of relevant publications, including the recently published Practising Solidarity.
