Open Call: Talent program for (local) creators @ De Basis Nijmegen
With the support of De Basis, you’ll spend a year exploring what success truly means to you as a musician and how you relate to a rapidly changing music industry. In 2025, we will focus more than ever on facilitating the creative process and the artistic value of your work, rather than just measurable results like audience numbers or streams. We won’t interfere with what you create (unless you want us to). We’re looking for artists who embrace this vision and want to build a sustainable musical future with us.

DE BASIS PRESENTS
A talent program for (local) creators
Every musician dreams of becoming the biggest star—of course! But in a music industry that only has room for a select top, that’s not just a huge challenge; the reality is often different from what you expect. Success today is often measured by streams and likes, but we believe there are more ways to define it.
Applications are open until March 2.
What do we offer?
At De Basis, you’ll get a unique opportunity to develop your artistry and explore new directions:
- A year of intensive collaboration focused on your artistic growth.
- A work budget to support this creative process.
- Access to De Basis’s spaces for creating, rehearsing, and experimenting.
- Support from our extensive network to help you make valuable connections.
Who is it for?
Our talent programs are designed for artists who want to grow, innovate, and experiment. Selection takes place through an open call and a carefully curated committee. We are looking for acts that identify with the following description:
- Innovation
You are open to exploring alternative paths within the music industry with us. This could be in terms of business (such as new revenue streams, innovative live formats, or alternative release methods). But it could also involve artistic innovation—introducing a new sound in your genre, exploring unique creative processes, or creating work with social relevance. - Ambition and realism
You have already taken some steps in your career. This means you have organized and played your own tour, are registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK), and have released your own music. Besides ambition, we also expect a willingness to step out of your comfort zone and collaborate. - Locality
We support artists from the Nijmegen/Arnhem area or those with strong roots or connections to this region.
