KLANG - ArtEZ Composition for Film and Theatre
Seven third year students of Composition for Film and Theatre are busy with a new project kicking off this month: KLANG.
Tim Meyer, Vito Mamula, Sebastian Knab, Léonie Bertram, Timotheos Gunzler, Jan Friedrich and Patrick Grzybowski.
These students are writing music for silent films and working with the world-renowned interdisciplinary performance group Ensemble KLANG! (picture)

Under the guidance of Main Subject teacher Rainer Quade the students are studying how to dramaturgically support the story and image in 7 different short fragments of silent films, and KLANG will workshop, perform and record the music in two full-day sessions on January 28 and February 11. In the evening of February 11 there will be a public presentation of the music and film, with Ensemble KLANG performing from 19.00-20.00 in the ArtEZ Concert Hall here in Arnhem, along with the films. Ensemble KLANG is a super-exciting group (known to many as the guiding ensemble last April during our very own interdisciplinary project Pleasure Island), which consists of six instruments: 2 saxophones, trombone, piano, guitar and percussion.
Come join us on February 11 and celebrate the work of CFT students combined with film and the wonderful musicians of KLANG!
