ArtEZ Bigband Zwolle + Thijs Jansen Trio ft. Dion Hoorn
On January 29th, you can't believe your luck, because then there won't be one awesome Jazzconcert at the Tor in Enschede, but two!
Concert 1 = The ArtEZ Academy of Music Bigband from Zwolle.
Our big band led by our own Hein Buying has existed for over 18 years. Thus the repertoire consists of a mix of swing, ballads, Latin jazz and funk. This evening the orchestra will play pieces by composers and arrangers such as Bob Mintzer, Gerry Mulligan & John Coltrane.

Concert 2 = Thijs Jansen Trio ft. Dion Hoorn.
This trio consists of students from our Jazz & Pop program in Zwolle and plays music they describe themselves as; 'Energetic jazz that is atmospheric and idiosyncratic'. Thijs Jansen: 'For me, making music is the most beautiful form of expression'. The trio is currently touring the Netherlands and Germany together with saxophonist Dion Hoorn and the second single from their debut album will be released during this closing concert. So don't miss it!
