Band in Residence - ArtEZ Jazz & Pop Arnhem project week
During the Band in Residence project week, a well-known band will be coaching studentbands for 3 whole days in developing and rehearsing 2 songs that will be presented on the last night of the week. Each studentband will make an interpretation / adaptation of an existing piece of the band in residence. Secondly, a completely new, own composition, inspired by the musical style of the band in residence must be made.
Bands that have been our Band in Residence are: Snarky Puppy, Now vs. Now, Simin Tander Quartet, Banda Magda, Marc O’Reilly, ICP Orchestra, Lohai, Omer Klein Trio, De Staat and Sweet Toko.
The band that will visit us in November 2024 is Brintex Collective consisting of: Brenn Luiten (keys) Christopher Rijckaert (drums) Joop de Graaf (bass), Tommy van Leuken (synths, guitar), Antonio Moreno Glazkov (trumpet) en Diana Dzhabbar (flute/ saxophone).
The Band in Residence Project Week is part of the module Projects Jazz & Pop (M-JP-PRW1, M-JP-PRW2, M-JP-PRW3, M-JP-PRW4) and therfore mandatory for 1st and 2nd year students Jazz and Pop. If you are a 3rd or 4th year student and you wish to participate, you must make sure the project week is part of your study-program.
