MUSIC IS ART is the graduation concert of drummer Guus Veldman. This concert summarizes 5 years of conservatory in a musical exposition. You will hear his personal story about the search for his goals and the challenges of living abroad.
In this musical exposition Guus shows that music is more than just something you put on while doing the dishes: it's art and that's how you should treat it. The show is characterized by improvised music. It is jazz, expressive, abstract and idiosyncratic.
In the final phase of his education, Guus spent a lot of time exploring what else music could be. For example, he noticed that live music almost never appears in museums and is never exhibited. This is something Guus wants to change. With the goal of getting the audience thinking, he will perform some of his compositions that will be performed as works of art.
