Final Exam Igor Herstel - Jazz & Pop Piano

Pianist/keyboardist and bassist Igor Herstel is an enthusiastic, driven and idiosyncratic musician, about to graduate from the ArtEZ Zwolle conservatory. With roots in Jazz, Fusion, Latin, Soul and R 'n B, he flies into music with a lot of passion. As bandleader/founder of acts such as “Igor Herstel Trio” and “VLOT,” he has studied the piano tradition, developed himself musically and written his own compositions. He also arranges and produces, and likes to involve himself as broadly as possible in every part of the creative process. What is always central to this is the search for new smells and colors. Igor lives for flavorful music; with a twist, a fantasy, and a groove.

Own music and pieces that were indicative of Igor's development as an artist are arranged for a 13-piece ensemble: horns, vocals, and a lot of percussion, consisting of friends and colleagues who were part of Igor's development and musicality. Called “Textures,” the concert showcases the smells, colors and flavors of an intense, versatile, creative, energetic and soulful character.
