Frank Tazelaar, head of department of Creative Writing, elected president EACWP

Frank Tazelaar, head of the bachelor's course Creative Writing at ArtEZ in Arnhem, has been elected new president of the European Association of Creative Writing Programmes (EACWP). This was announced at EACWP's 'XVII Symposium'. Frank was elected by the members of EACWP and succeeds Javier Sagarna (Creative Writing director at EdE Madrid).

Frank was elected for a four-year term, and will lead the activities of the EACWP together with the staff of Creative Writing at ArtEZ.

In a significant number of cross-European collaboration projects, ArtEZ Creative Writing is at the forefront. We intend to increase this in the upcoming years, because in a field as evolving as creative writing, giving our students an international perspective is crucial."

Creative Writing

At the bachelor's course Creative Writing in Arnhem, authors and storytellers who wish to develop into full-fledged writers are at the ideal place. You have the freedom to try out a variety of ideas there, from writing books to writing for virtual reality. By doing so, you will learn what you want to claim as your own, what inspires you to write, and most importantly, what it means to you to be a writer.

EACWP

The EACWP represents the top creative writing academies and courses in Europe and has more than 30 institutional members. The association supports the growth of creative writing research and education in a number of ways. The EACWP organizes an annual series of intense teacher training courses, an annual symposium, and a biennial teaching conference in addition to starting collaborative projects and exchanges across academies. Additionally, the association disseminates research and papers on industry advancements.
