Bob Verheijden new director ArtEZ Art & Design Zwolle
The Executive Board is pleased to announce that from 1 October Bob Verheijden will become director of Art & Design Zwolle as of 1 September.
Bob is no stranger to ArtEZ. In 1987, he graduated in Arnhem, and went on to run his own (interior) architecture, urban planning and graphic design bureau. In 1993, he returned to ArtEZ as head of the Product Design course, a role he fulfilled for six years. After focusing his attention on his own bureau for a long time, Bob returned to education. In England, he set up his own bachelor and master course at Coventry University.
He is currently head of the six design courses at Minerva Art Academy, where he also focuses on flexibilisation of the education and creating links towards research and the professorships.

In Bob, we feel we have found a director with a great deal of experience in education and the practical field. We are convinced that together with the people in Zwolle, he will be able to promote Art & Design and give further shape to the development which has already begun.”
Bob hopes that he, together with the team, will be able to improve the profile of the Academy of Art & Design Zwolle:
It is a nice challenge to make the academy, which is rooted in the region, even more visible. Art is a need to have, and we can demonstrate that.”
Bob Verheijden succeeds Thom Wildeboer who is leaving the academy in the summer after an interim period of 2 years. Under Thom, the academy worked on a future-oriented development trajectory which also resulted in the successful re-accreditation.
