You only make your debut once. Lisa Weeda knows how to do that exceptionally well. Of the six writers who have a chance to win the 29th Libris Literature Prize and the accompanying prize money of 50,000 euros, Lisa Weeda is the only debutante. Earlier this year Lisa was named literary talent of 2022 by de Volkskrant

For the second year in a row, an alumna of Creative Writing is on the shortlist of the Libris. Last year Simone Atangana Bekono made the shortlist, with her urgent work Confrontations. This year Lisa Weeda, with Aleksandra, the compelling and exceptionally well-written story of a special Ukrainian history - now more urgent than ever.

Announcement of the Libris Literature Prize winner

The announcement of the winner will be broadcast live on Monday 9 May in Nieuwsuur on NPO2. This year's chairman of the jury is Ahmed Aboutaleb, mayor of Rotterdam. The livestream will be broadcast from Felix Meritis, with a Hommage show for the six nominated authors.
