Liesbeth Piena wins Sieger White Award 2020

Liesbeth Piena has won the Sieger White Award for 2020. Liesbeth graduated cum laude from Fine Art in Enschede in 2018. In the same year she won the Kunst aan de Dijk Kortenhoef Award, the HeArtfund Award and a year later the Sluijters Award.

Liesbeth makes powerful, highly graphic and almost abstract paintings in which plants and natural landscapes are reduced to essential forms.

Sieger White Award
The Sieger White Award is named after the artist couple Fred Sieger (1902-1999) and Helen Sieger-White (1911-2010) and was initiated in 2012 by the Sieger White Foundation. The award, a money prize worth €25,000, is presented by the Cultuurfonds every two years. The prize money goes towards making a publication. Liesbeth’s publication will be presented in September 2021 during a solo presentation at the Mini Galerie in Amsterdam.
