“In high school, I always looked up to my art teachers. I used to think, that’s what I want to do when I grow up! Which is why I chose to do this Bachelor’s.” Janneke Harrewijn is doing the course Fine Art and Design in Education in Zwolle. In this video she shares her experience at her internship: “My day is complete when I feel that I’ve helped someone, or I’ve opened someone’s eyes to a new perspective.
She’s both a student and a teacher: “In addition to this internship, I create art. My internship is intense, but I manage to divide my time between being a teacher and being an artist. After all, you teach from your area of expertise: what can I offer these students as an artist?”
Janneke wants to help and motivate students in her own art school: “I’m constantly motivating students because I want them to do an art course and experience art the same way I do. I want them to be motivated to go for it and do their best.”
