Doing an internship in your own company

The project Stage lopen in je eigen onderneming (SLIEB), meaning doing an internship in your own company, allows ambitious student entrepreneurs to combine their studies with their businesses. It will enable them to take their career as independent artists/artisans/performers/designers to the next level while studying to realise their future dream. Doing an internship in your own company is part of the Top Sport Regeling (TOR), a project already offered by several educational institutions in the Netherlands where students combine their studies and practice top sports.
In 2024, ten ArtEZ students can intern in their own company, paid by the Kwaliteitsafspraken. It allows students to start doing business already, staying within the requirements of their studies.
Download the PDF with additional information for you as a tutor and course. The information PDF for students is also downloadable as a separate file on the ArtEZ Business Centre page for students under SLIEB. The contact person for Stage lopen in je eigen onderneming is Andrew David, the coordinator of SLIEB.
For inspiration, please read the story of Joep van den Boom, a Media Music student in Enschede who did not want to do an internship like an employee but instead wanted to focus on his own business during his internship. And the story of Bibi Anker of Comic Design, Zwolle, who was just toying with the idea of doing her internship at a tattoo artist when our mail came in about SLIEB. Following the LevelUP! Programme at Saxion during her internship and working on her own business goals suits her perfectly.
