Marijke Groothuis

Marijke Groothuis (Ba. and Ma. Music Therapist, NMT-f and music educator) is senior lecturer at the Music Therapy Department at ArtEZ University of the Arts, Enschede.

Additionally, she works at a Special Education Needs School, School Lyndensteyn Beetsterzwaag, with children (4-18 years) with physically and mentally disabled and chronically ill children. She provides music therapy and music education to those children. She is specialized in the clinical application of music technology and trains ArtEZ music therapy students at all levels in this area. She co-authored the book “Navigating Music Technology”, and provides national and international workshops, lectures and presentations on the application of  music technology in clinical settings and on how to educate new generations of music therapists.
