Programme

The programme focuses on perfecting conducting and forming a high-level interpretative concept, which is rehearsed with an orchestra.

Skills

  • Mastering the role of conductor, from baton technique to interpretative conducting.
  • Mastering all the style forms included in the repertoire.
  • You have a methodological and didactic grounding such that you are able to motivate and inspire an orchestra to achieve a solid performance of the chosen repertoire in a series of rehearsals.
  • You have the required social skills to deliver the product in a joint process with the orchestra.
  • Your theoretical knowledge related to the major is such that you know all the aspects which occur in the score.

Content

You will receive methodical and practical information based on your own practice to raise the musical product to a higher level. The subsidiary subjects taught on the regular bachelor's course are repeated in a shortened version:

  • Orchestra training (focused on practice)
  • Instrumentation
  • Receptive training 
  • Knowledge of the literature
  • History
  • Rehearsal techniques

At the end of the programme, there is a public rehearsal with a regional orchestra of a high standard (commensurate with your skills). A committee of 3 people will assess the whole. You will receive a certificate if you pass.
