Admission and registration

Is dancing all the world to you and do you possibly want to become a professional dancer, choreographer or dance teacher? Then apply for the orientation class (if you are in year 7 or 8 of primary school) or for the ArtEZ Dance Preparatory Course (for secondary school students).

Admission requirements

Would you like to take part in the orientation class or Dance Preparatory Course? Then please take the following conditions into account:

You are in year 7 or 8 of primary school or in the first year of secondary school
You have to audition first and pass that audition

Are you already 14 years old and are you nevertheless keen to audition for the Dance Preparatory Course in Venlo? Please contact Myrthe van Opstal, m.vanopstal@artez.nl.

Apply for audition

During the audition we will assess your physical abilities, musicality, presentation and creativity (can you already show something of your individuality?). We also look at the extent to which you are open to improvement and to learning something new.

After the audition you will be notified within a week whether you have been admitted. Admission only applies to the orientation class or Dance Preparatory Course and only for the school year immediately following the audition.

Workshop day

This Workshop day is a great opportunity to get to know us. You will be taught classical dance, modern dance and folklore. After that, students of the Dance Preparatory Course give a presentation. The Workshop day is provided by teachers from the study programme.

Workshop end performance: Monday 14 April 2025 (information about application will follow)

Application

You can apply online via ArtEZ Osiris.

Here you first create an account (in the student's name, but with the email address of one of the parents/guardians). Under Application for Preliminary Dance Programme you see the general part and there you make the following choice:

Will you be in primary school next school year? Then select "Dance Orientation in Venlo"
Are you going to secondary school next year? Then select "Dance Preparatory Course in Venlo"

After your full registration you will receive confirmation at your parent's or guardian's email address. After that you will receive an invitation to the audition from our Educational Office.

Fee for preparatory course and Orientation class

Participation in the orientation class costs €500 per school year.
Participation in the Dance Preparatory Course costs €1500 per school year.
This amount may also be paid in ten instalments. Furthermore, you should allow for about €250 for your outfit.

For parents/carers of students who cannot afford the training costs, a supplement is possible. Ask Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur and the relevant secondary school of the Dance preparatory programme about the conditions. For reimbursement of travel expenses, parents/carers can visit the DaMu Foundation website.
