First year: exploration
In the first year, training will primarily be given in the form of workshops, practice-oriented lessons and courses. You will learn early on how to assess your acting and discover your own capabilities and shortcomings. At the same time, you will be taught various techniques and skills in the field of improvisation, text conveyance, voice, body and research.
In the first year, students have the opportunity to apply for admission to the Honours Programme, which is supplementary to the regular courses of their own Bachelor’s course.
Second year: specialisation phase
The second year is devoted to in-depth learning. You will start receiving more individual training. Voice and singing lessons are offered individually, for example. Lessons will be increasingly interspersed with short projects and performances. On this basis, we will zoom into specific areas and disciplines such as acting in front of the camera. In this year, you will also take classes together with students from the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam (AHK).
Third year: specialisation phase
In this year, much of the curriculum will be devoted to projects, in which you will be able to apply your knowledge and skills. You will work more independently and receive the opportunity to compose your own programme. The number of hours spent on projects and elective courses will increase.
Fourth year: independent artistic practice
This year will start with you writing a graduation plan, where you put down on paper how you wish to design your graduation programme. Compulsory components include an internship at a professional company, a graduation performance and an in-depth thesis. You will also start your own project, such as the production of a performance, a second internship, a research project in an area of acting or a research study period at another institution.
