Admission and costsIs dancing all the world to you and do you possibly want to become a professional dancer, choreographer or dance lecturer? Then apply for the orientation class (if you are in year 7 or 8 of primary school) or for the ArtEZ Dance Preparatory Course (for secondary school students).
Admission requirements
Would you like to take part in the orientation class or Dance Preparatory Course? If so, you must meet the following conditions:
- You are in year 7 or 8 of primary school or in the first year of secondary school;
- You have to audition first and pass that audition.
If you are already 14 years old and nevertheless keen to audition for the Dance Preparatory Course in Enschede, please contact Nina Nestelaar, nnestelaar@hetstedelijklyceum.nl.
Audition
During the audition we will assess your physical abilities, musicality, presentation and creativity (can you already show something of your individuality?). We also look at the extent to which you are open to improvement and to learning something new.
After the audition you will be notified within a week whether you have been admitted. Admission only applies to the orientation class or Dance Preparatory Course and only for the school year immediately following the audition.
Dates
The audition will take place on two different days: 12th and 14th February, and you will attend a total of three classes: Classical Ballet, Modern, and Character. The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday 12th February (Audition Day 1)
16:00 - 17:00: Classical Ballet with Nada
Friday 14th February (Audition Day 2)
16:00 - 17:00: Modern with Nina
17:15 - 18:15: Character with Andras
18:30 - 19:30: Teacher Team Meeting
Workshop Day
The Workshop Day on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 February 2024 is a great opportunity to learn ArtEZ dance education. You will be taught classical dance, modern dance and folklore. Afterward, students from the Dance Preparatory Course will give a presentation. Teachers from the program will provide the Workshop Day.
Fee for preparatory course or orientation class
The fee for the orientation phase is € 500
The fee for the Dance Preparatory Course is € 1100
This amount may also be paid in ten instalments.
Furthermore, you should allow for about € 250 for your outfit.
For parents who are unable to bear the training costs, an allowance for travel costs is possible.
