ArtEZ Interaction Design becomes Design Art Technology

The ArtEZ Interaction Design course in Arnhem will be renamed: Design Art Technology. This change will become effective in the academic year 2021/2022.
Why a different name?
Both Design Art Technology and Interaction Design form the basis of the curriculum of this course. “But”, says Martijn van Boven, head of the course, “the term Design Art Technology is much more commonly used in the international work field. As we focus on the international work field, it simply makes more sense to use the terminology used in that field.”
Former student Oscar van Leest endorses this choice: “Design Art Technology encompasses briefly and concretely the breadth of the field in which my own practice as an independent autonomous designer also finds itself. It reflects the result of the expertise that I have gained from the course.”
The name will become visible in the ArtEZ information channels after the summer break.
