After four years of hard study, the big moment has arrived my Artez Final!
Tales of Music is the result of a personal journey centered on storytelling and connection, two elements that are at the heart of music for me.

MonkeyJam Arnhem The MonkeyJam takes place every 4th Wednesday of the month in Café Bosch Arnhem. The jam is started by the Colored Monkeys house band, then the stage is free for all musicians present to join in! From 8:00 PM we will go wild on the beautiful stage of Café Bosch.

In my Artez Final I will show how I have developed as a drummer and musician over the past four years. It promises to be an evening centered around my enjoyment of music. In two sets I will take the audience to styles and genres that make my heart beat faster.

Dit Is Theater Stel je voor: een acteur die het script pas voor het eerst leest op het podium, voor publiek. Geen repetities, geen voorkennis—alleen het script in de hand en de spotlights in het gezicht. In Dit Is Theater delen vier muzikanten en één onwetende acteur het podium. Elke voorstelling staat een andere acteur in de hoofdrol, volledig blanco, geleid door wat op papier staat. Improvisatie? Vergeet het maar. Dit is geen chaotisch kunstproject—alles staat tot in detail uitgeschreven. Wat volgt is een zoektocht: wat ís theater eigenlijk? Waarom zetten we iets op een podium? Wanneer wordt iets kunst—en wie bepaalt of het goed is? Meer over de inhoud kunnen we helaas niet verklappen, want stel je voor dat de acteur dit leest... dan zou die zich nog gaan voorbereiden. En dat is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling. De voorstelling wordt gespeeld in een unieke mix van punkrock, akoestische accordeonmuziek en klassieke koren. Dat mag ook wel, met meer dan vijftien verschillende instrumenten op het podium. Is het een Ode? Is het een Haat brief? Het is Theater.

ROT   Je aandacht. Je tijd. Je smaak. Je esthetiek. Je lichaam. Je seks. Je verhaal. Je schaamte. Je waarden. Je waarheid. Je leugens. Er is niets dat niet verkoopbaar is. In zijn afstudeervoorstelling ROT neemt Jan Turkenburg je mee in het fysieke, mentale en economische proces waarin hij zichzelf als performer herleidt tot een marktproduct. Via muziek, soundscapes, camera’s en poëzie pelt hij zichzelf laag voor laag af, tot alleen een lichaam overblijft met een zo eerlijk mogelijke verpakkingstekst. Jan Turkenburg maakt poëtisch, intiem muziektheater waarin digitaal geluid, stem en sound design samenvloeien met rauwe eerlijkheid. Zijn werk zoekt het snijvlak op tussen kwetsbaarheid en confrontatie, tussen zelfonderzoek en systeemkritiek. Met zang, taal en een scherp muzikaal oor bevraagt hij wat het betekent om jezelf te zijn, of jezelf te moeten verkopen. Kaledidoscope Sara Maraston is a cello player who dives into the world of instrumental folk jazz. The title of this performance, Kaleidoscope, reflects the core of Sara’s musical vision. Like the shifting patterns and vibrant colors seen through a kaleidoscope, her compositions take you on a journey to a colorful world, where emotions are in constant movement, turning upside down and reshaping themselves into new meanings and different perspectives. In this concert, Sara brings together musicians and friends she met during her studies at the Conservatory of ArtEZ. At the heart of the performance, however, is her established band. In this ensemble, the melodic voice of the cello waves together with the clarinet and saxophone, all supported by a rhythm section that’s uniquely accompanied by the presence of the accordion. With a strong background in classical music, Sara creates an elegant fusion of tradition and innovation. Her music reflects a deep connection to her roots and the diverse musical influences that shape her work.
