VrijMiBouwkunst with Architect Ron Verduijn

NiCo, Coehoornstraat 17, ArnhemOn Friday afternoon, September 25, ArtEZ Academy of Architecture and CASA are once again organizing a VrijMiBouwkunst event.
This event will be held in Dutch.
Our guest this time is architect and ArtEZ alumnus Ron Verduijn. He graduated in 2012 with a project on the repurposing of the Diogenes Bunker north of Arnhem. In 2019, he founded Buro STIEL, which operates at the intersection of architecture and heritage. In recent years, Verduijn has worked on projects including the restoration and repositioning of the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft. Through various phases, involving a number of modifications and additions, the church has been redefined and repurposed for religious and community activities. The most recent phase involved a collaboration with textile artist Claudy Jongstra. Drawing on materials, craftsmanship, and artistic expression, a design emerged that is rooted in history yet emphatically contemporary.
Following a brief presentation, Ron Verduijn will engage in a discussion with the students and other attendees. Afterward, there will be Friday afternoon drinks.
Students (master’s and preparatory program) and alumni of the ArtEZ Academy of Architecture are invited, as are members of the CASA society. If you do not belong to these groups but would still like to attend, please contact the ArtEZ Academy of Architecture.
