About the teacher
Steven Faber is employed at ArtEZ University of the Arts, location Zwolle Conservatoire of Music. As coordinator of the master program, research supervisor and performing pianist, he brings together theory, practice, education, and organization through artistic activities.
He received his piano training at the Zwolle and Utrecht conservatoires, and privately with the renowned pianist Tan Crone. He is also a Master of Education in Arts.
In addition to his employment at ArtEZ, he focuses on chamber music and gives concerts with singers, focusing on the performance of the art song from +/- 1750 to the present. He has toured to Germany, France, England, and Indonesia, and accompanied master classes in the Netherlands, France and Italy by Elly Ameling, Barbara Hannigan, Alison Pearce, Roberta Alexander, and Michael Chance, among others.
For the Association Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC) in Brussels, he collaborates on updating conservatoire education in Europe, especially in the area of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Social Safety.
He is actively involved in the support of performing arts as a member of the Olland-Buisman Foundation, a fund for young performing artists, and for the Zwolle Concert Grand Piano Foundation to preserve and playing concert grand pianos on the stages of the historic city of Zwolle.
